Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Food Service Associate to guide patients through meal ordering and ensure diet compliance. You will verify identifiers, deliver accurate trays, and proactively address foodservice concerns to support patient satisfaction.

Open to qualified candidates with strong English communication, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting, and comfort with iPad/ToughBook tech. Position involves day-weekend shifts in a dynamic hospital dining program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in food service preferred
• High School Grad preferred
• Food Safety Handler/CFSM preferred (state requirements)

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through the meal ordering process using a computerized diet office system and ensure selections align with prescribed diets.
• Verify patient identifiers during meal delivery and ensure tray accuracy and completeness of patient needs.
• Round on patients and nursing staff to identify and resolve foodservice concerns and perform service recovery as needed.
• Assemble and deliver trays according to therapeutic diet guidelines and presentation standards; maintain timely, accurate service across patient areas.
• Perform physically active duties including walking long distances and standing for extended periods, up to 12-hour shifts, in a clean and compliant environment.

Job Description:

Round on patients and nursing staff to identify and resolve foodservice concerns, taking ownership of complaints and implementing service recovery to improve patient experience scores. Assemble and deliver trays according to therapeutic diet guidelines and presentation standards, maintaining timely and accurate service across all patient areas. Perform physically active duties including walking long distances, standing for extended periods, and working up to 12-hour shifts while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
