Job summary

Cascade Living Group is seeking a Dietary Aide at Deerfield Village to help provide a safe, comfortable dining experience for residents. You will assist in meal prep, serve meals, and build relationships with residents and families in a respectful, compassionate manner.

Requires first aid and food safety certifications, reliable transportation, and a willingness to work evenings and weekends. A team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth and benefits is offered.

  • Must possess current first aid certification and a current food handler's or serve safe certification.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable when it comes to showing up on time.

  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ownership attitude and ability to stay focused despite interruptions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare dining room for all meals, completing the pre-meal procedures.
  • Fill resident food requests, transport food to dining room or deliver service trays to resident's units.
  • Establish effective relationships with residents, family members and staff.
  • Use proper tasting techniques to understand the flavor of all entrees and know their ingredients prior to meal service.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills around time management.
  • Understand menus and answer questions that might arise.
  • Ensure cleanliness in both kitchen and dining room.
  • Actively participate as a team member and contribute to goals set by management.
  • Promote the mission, values and beliefs of Cascade Living.

Job description

As a Dietary Aide (Dining Services Associate) with Deerfield Village, you're responsible for creating a safe, comfortable and pleasant dining experience for our residents. In this role you'll have the opportunity to build life-long relationships serving our residents the nutritious meals that keep them thriving every day.

What we look for in a Dietary Aide (Dining Services Associate):
  • Must possess current first aid certification and a current food handler's or serve safe certification
  • Work with the dining room manager to identify dietary needs and develop appropriate dietary plans
  • Reliable transportation and dependable when it comes to showing up on time
  • Effective communicator who connects with staff, residents and their families
  • Demonstrate active listening techniques, gain support by treating others with dignity and respect
  • Compassionate individuals who will represent our community in a positive and professional manner
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to problem solve
  • Ownership attitude who is able to stay focused despite interruptions throughout the day
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends
