Job summary

Cascade Living Alder Bay Assisted Living is seeking a Dietary Aide (Dining Services Associate) to support dining operations and resident meals. You will prepare dining areas, fulfill resident food requests, and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining spaces.

Applicants should have current first aid and food handler or serve safe certification, dependable transportation, and strong communication with residents and staff. Weekend availability and flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess current first aid certification and a current food handler’s or serve safe certification
• Work with the dining room manager to identify dietary needs and develop appropriate dietary plans
• Reliable transportation and dependable when it comes to showing up on time
• Effective communicator who connects with staff, residents and their families
• Demonstrate active listening techniques, gain support by treating others with dignity and respect
• Compassionate individuals who will represent our community in a positive and professional manner
• Strong customer service skills with ability to problem solve
• Ownership attitude who is able to stay focused despite interruptions throughout the day
• Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Prepare dining room for all meals, completing the pre-meal procedures
• Fill resident food requests, transport food to dining room or deliver service trays to resident’s units
• Establish effective relationships with residents, family members and staff
• Use proper tasting techniques to understand the flavor of all entrees and have knowledge of their ingredients, prior to meal service.
• Demonstrate organizational skills around time management
• Ability to understand menus and answer questions that might arise
• Ensure cleanliness in both kitchen and dining room
• Actively participates as a member of a team and is committed to working toward goals set by management
• Promote the mission, values and beliefs of Cascade Living
