Job summary

Caswell House is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will assist with meal preparation, serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience in a supportive care setting.

The role emphasizes adherence to food safety protocols, teamwork with the dietary staff, and engagement with residents to meet individual dietary needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required).
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying dietary manager of shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents' individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
