Job summary

Windsor House is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and assist in providing nutritious meals to residents.

In this role, you will help prepare, portion, and serve meals per dietary plans while maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ensuring food safety, and supporting residents with a positive dining experience.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; previous food service experience is a plus. We value compassion for the elderly, strong communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance and ensure a positive dining experience for residents.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols including storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food, checking inventory, and notifying shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents' preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
