Job summary

Williamston House in North Carolina is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and assist in providing nutritious, resident-focused meals.

You will support meal service, follow dietary plans, maintain kitchen cleanliness, ensure food safety, and collaborate with the dietary team to create a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in food service is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: prepare, portion, and serve meals according to dietary plans.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment.
• Resident support: assist with meal setup and service for residents.
• Food safety: follow protocols for storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory support: assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; notify shortages.
• Team collaboration: work with dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and resident preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:
