Job summary

Blue Circle Rehab is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide for a long-term care facility. You will support the dietary team by preparing and serving meals tailored to residents with specific dietary plans and health considerations, while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

Role involves assisting with prep, transporting meals, and maintaining clean service areas. Experience in geriatric settings preferred; training in dietetics and food safety provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role:

As a Dietary Aide, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with food preparation, including assembling, portioning, and serving meals in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all workplace safety protocols and sanitation procedures
• Supporting the dietary team by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and maintaining cleanliness of food service areas to ensure compliance with health regulations
• Handling food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques, manual handling, and safe lifting practices for heavy items
• Working closely with nursing staff to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions for residents with specific health conditions or nutritional plans
• Ensuring timely delivery of meals to residents, managing time effectively to meet scheduled meal times
• Maintaining accurate records of food inventory, sanitation logs, and meal service documentation

Requirements:

• Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable
• Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and sanitation practices aligned with food safety standards
• Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and basic math skills for portioning and inventory management
• Strong understanding of adhering to dietary requirements and working with geriatric patients' nutritional needs
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices
