Avalon Care Center Northpointe in Spokane is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide to join our outstanding team. The position offers full-time, varying shifts including weekdays and weekends, with a start-time of 5:30 am to 12:30 pm and pay of $19.00/hr.

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s permit/ServeSafe certification required.
• Must be able to read, write and follow directions in English.
• Relate positively to residents and work cooperatively with staff.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background and reference inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes.
• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that warming equipment and steam tables are heated properly.
• Ensure accurate serving portions on each tray before loading to the cart.
• Verify temperatures are within standards and logged.
• Garnish and arrange trays during tray line; ensure cleanliness of utensils and dishes.
• Record any excess/shortage and discuss with supervisor.

Placement within the wage range for this position is determined by years of experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in washing and sanitizing dishes.
• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator is heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s permit/ServeSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
