Job summary

Avalon Health Care Group at Benson Heights Rehab Center in Kent, WA is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide for a part-time role. You’ll assist in washing dishes, food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean kitchen and dining areas, with attention to safety and portion control.

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s permit/ServeSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must relate positively to residents, families and work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes.
• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator is heated; ensure steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure accurate serving portions and that items are on each tray before loading to the cart.
• Ensure proper serving utensils and that temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line.
• Maintain garnish on trays and ensure neat arrangement; keep silverware, cups, and dishes clean.
• Record any excess/shortage after tray-line and discuss with supervisor.

**Placement within the wage range for this position is determined by years of experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions.**

Responsibilities

• Assist in washing and sanitizing dishes.
• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator is heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.
