Snow Hill Memory Care in Snow Hill, NC is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and support residents with nutritious, appealing meals tailored to their dietary plans and preferences.

In this role, you will help prepare, portion, and serve meals, maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow food safety practices, assist with inventory, and partner with the dietary team to ensure a positive dining experience for every resident.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance and ensure a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving, storing food and supplies, and report shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to run the kitchen and dining areas smoothly.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents' preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
