Snow Hill Memory Care in Snow Hill, NC is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, flavorful meals for residents. This role emphasizes accuracy, compassion, and adherence to dietary requirements in a senior living setting.

You will prepare meals, follow menus, and work with the Dietary Manager to ensure timely service, proper portions, and high-quality presentation. A strong commitment to food safety and resident satisfaction is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
• Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service. Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
• Assist with inventory management and help track food supplies. Report shortages or order needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences, ensuring satisfaction with meals served.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
