Job summary

Lakeshore Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Slidell, LA is hiring for kitchen staff to support our dining services. Roles include food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in kitchen and dining areas. Flexible part-time and full-time positions with weekend and holiday shifts available.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must relate positively to residents and work cooperatively with staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure accurate serving portions on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure appropriate serving utensils are used and temperatures logged.
• During tray line, garnish trays, arrange neatly, ensure silverware, cups, and dishes are clean.
• Record excess/shortage after tray-line and discuss with supervisor.

$11.00/hr

Part Time & Full Time Positions OPEN

Schedule:

Split shift – 4 days on 2 off, 6a – 230p & 11a – 730p and 4 days on 2 days off, 6a-2p.

• These are full-time positions, hours. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During the tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
