Job summary

Lakeside Health and Wellness in Kemp, TX seeks a Dietary Aide (Kitchen Staff) for full-time, hourly work in our health center dining operations. You will prepare desserts and salads, serve meals, and help maintain clean, organized dining spaces while following diet orders for residents.

Qualifications

• Must understand and follow English instructions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and conversions.
• Experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required.
• Ability to plan and set up trays and plates per diet orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serves meals in the health center pantries.
• Sets up tables in dining rooms and breaks them down after meals.
• Transports hot and cold foods to and from the health center pantries.
• Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center pantries.
• Washes silver, glass, china in dish machines in pantries.
• Provides health center snacks and supplements per diet orders.
• Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms.
• Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order.
• Takes order, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously.
• Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service.
• Answers pertinent questions about menu items.
• Ensures that orders match Physician’s diet orders.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
• Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly
