The Dietary Aide performs a variety of food service functions, maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities, and equipment. Assists in food preparation and plates food according to dietary guidelines for regular and special diets. Required Experience for Dietary Aide:

• High School diploma (or equivalent) or technical school
• Ability to work independently and manage meal service for 20 residents
• Some food service work experience
• Excellent communication skills

Primary Responsibilities for Dietary Aide:

• Handle, transport, and plate food for residents, guests, and employees
• Plate food according to the planned menu using standard recipes
• Follow portion guidelines and garnishing instructions
• Assist other kitchen staff as needed and perform duties as assigned
• Ensure sufficient food is prepared and communicate shortages
• Maintain food freshness, proper temperature, and sanitation standards
• Keep daily logs and documentation for meal services
• Stock and clean stations for next shift
• Follow food rotation policies and sanitation procedures
• Operate equipment safely and report malfunctions
• Deliver and retrieve food carts, set up service lines, and clean dishes and utensils
• Monitor and control use of cleaning agents
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Inventory and stock supplies in satellite kitchens
• Prepare snacks and beverages between meals
• Maintain a positive team attitude and promote resident dignity and privacy
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate uniform and name tag

General Working Conditions:

This role requires standing for long periods, effective communication, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. It involves reading detailed documents, working in a moderate noise environment, and occasionally traveling between locations.
