Job summary

Rosewood Health & Rehab Center is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meals delivery to residents and maintain clean dining areas. You will assist cooks and the Dietary Manager, stock ingredients, monitor inventory, and help with sanitation and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Friendly demeanor and strong communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to read and understand menus and instructions.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in food service and knowledge of sanitation and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Delivers meals to resident rooms at designated times and maintains cleanliness of dining areas.
• Maintains clean dining areas and dishes using proper procedures, discards leftovers and empties trash.
• Follows color coding and abbreviations on tray cards and therapeutic menus.
• Assists Cook and Dietary Manager as directed.
• Stocks ingredients and monitors inventory.
• Helps maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Attends mandatory in-services and department meetings.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Dietary Department at Rosewood Health & Rehab Center fills a critical role in the care and satisfaction of residents, their families and our staff. Dietary Aides assist in serving meals and snacks and complying with policies and procedures in the Dietary Department. In addition Dietary Aides are responsible for meeting environmental and sanitation requirements for the department. These staff members work under the direction of the Dietary Manager. Available shifts are full and part time.

Dietary Aide - Essential Functions

• Delivers meals to resident rooms at designated times and sets up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order.
• Maintain a clean dining areas & dishes using appropriate procedures, discard leftovers & empty trash.
• Understand and follow color coding and abbreviations of tray cards and therapeutic menus.
• Assists the Cook and Dietary Manager as directed.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
• Helps maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Attend all mandatory in-services, educational trainings and department meetings.

Dietary Aide - Requirements

• Friendly with good communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
• Ability to read.
• Meet physical demands – stand, sit, walk extended lengths of time, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
• Food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines a plus
