Job summary

High Point Inpatient Campus in Hyannis, MA is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service, ensure sanitation, and maintain cold storage logs. The role requires a courteous demeanor, basic computer skills for EMR use, and adherence to infection control standards.

Flexible shifts and the opportunity for full-time, part-time, or per diem employment are available. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay Range: $20-24/hr (dependent on education and experience)

High Point & Affiliated Organizations (HPAO) is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeast Massachusetts, offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Dietary Aide Requirements

• Must present as courteous and professional at all times

• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion

• Proficient and knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO`s electronic medical records

• Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner

• An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs

• An understanding of boundaries and ethics

• Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Substance Abuse Confidentiality Regulations and HIPAA Regulations

• Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs

Dietary Aide Duties & Responsibilities

• Knowledge of Infection Control standards-hand washing, personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, blood spill kits, etc.;

• Record all food temperatures prior to serving;

• Stock assigned units;

• Set up dish area and dining room;

• Set up and serve assigned meals according to facility/location procedures;

• Wash dishes and pans, as needed;

• Cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas after all meals;

• Remove all trash and cardboard after each assigned meal;

• Receiving and storing of dry stock and produce items in assigned storage areas;

• Setting up of salads, desserts, beverages, etc. for meal on the IPU trays (Meadowbrook);

• Vacuum and mop of storage, kitchen, walk-in;

• Attend mandatory trainings;

• Adhere to all sanitary and infection control standards;

• Daily logging of all refrigerator temperatures and monitoring cleanliness of all refrigerators in the nursing stations;

• Utilizes standard precautions at all times;

• Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient rights;

• Other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager, Site Director, or Program Management.

Dietary Aide Qualifications

• Recommended High school diploma or GED or work experience. Work permit (if needed).
