Job summary

Heritage Ministries is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide at our Greenhurst, NY location. You will follow resident menus on the tray line, assist with meal service, and maintain sanitation of dishes and food prep areas. The role offers meaningful daily impact and opportunities to collaborate with care teams.

Shifts run 6:30am–2:30pm. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with health assessments required. This position includes benefits like 401k and education assistance as part of the package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/TASC equivalent is preferred for Dietary Aide positions.
• Must be able to meet health assessment requirements, including required testing and health documentation.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds if necessary with the ability to sit, walk, bend, and twist. Ability to engage in repetitive motions for extended times required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans work areas, equipment, walls, cabinets, storage areas, and any other areas assigned in accordance with established procedures.
• Washes dishes, cookware, flatware, and trays using approved procedures.
• Performs food preparation tasks as assigned by the cook or supervisor.
• Responsible for following resident menus accurately on the tray line.
• Delivers food carts/prepared meals to the designated dining room and ensures that carts are returned to the kitchen.
• May be responsible for assisting in serving the meals to residents.
• Collects and removes trash and garbage as necessary.
• Delivers nourishments to nursing units and/or resident rooms as required.

A DIETARY AIDE is responsible for following resident menus accurately on the tray make-up line and for the proper cleaning and sanitation of soiled dishes, pots and pans.
