Job summary

Grants Wellness & Rehabilitation is hiring a cook to prepare nutritious, attractive meals and supplements for residents in a timely, compliant manner.

You will work in a safe, sanitary environment, attend meetings, and, when the Director is unavailable, supervise staff while upholding resident rights and company standards.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness, organization and safety.
• Prior food service and/or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, attractive meals and supplements for residents.
• Operate in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Supervise staff in the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.
• Present professional image to consumers and resolve concerns.
• Ensure residents' rights are protected.

TECHNICAL

• The cook prepares, in a timely manner, nutritious and attractive meals and supplements for all residents according to Federal, State and Corporate requirements.
• Performs duties in a safe and sanitary manner.

ADMINISTRATIVE

• The cook supervises staff in the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness, organization and safety.
• Prior food service and/or long-term care experience preferred.

CONSUMER SERVICE

• Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
• Adheres to Company standards for resolving consumer concerns.
• Ensures all patient/resident rights are protected.
