Job Description

The Dietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department and reports to the Dietary Manager. In the absence of the Dietary Manager, the Dietary Aide reports to the Cook.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; experience in institutional dietary service preferred
• Ability to read and follow recipes, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments
• Willingness to perform routine and repetitive tasks, often with interruptions
• Numerical skills for measuring ingredients and cleaning agents; manual dexterity for food prep and cleaning
• Flexible hours availability; patience and tolerance towards staff, residents, and families

Duties

• Perform routines using dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment
• Assist in meal preparation and service
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times
• Follow federal, state, and facility policies and procedures
• Perform cleaning duties as scheduled
• Assist with tray setup, food loading, and serving
• Wash and store dishes
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Report supply needs and equipment issues
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards
• Participate in emergency procedures and infection control policies
• Respect residents' dignity and report grievances
• Comply with HIPAA regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned
