Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Must understand safety rules, maintenance instructions and manuals; write routine reports.
• Ability to perform basic math and unit conversions.
• Ability to solve practical problems with variable conditions.
• Must interpret written, oral, or scheduled instructions.
• Willingness to work varied shifts incl. weekends and overtime.
• Familiarity with diesel industry terms and processes.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Combination of education and experience in diesel mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Read job orders and observe truck operation to plan work.
• Install ignition systems, align front wheels, change batteries, and replace transmissions.
• Overhaul diesel engines with hand tools and hoists.
• Inspect guards, bolts and safety devices; adjust as needed.
• Perform essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation.
