Job summary

Heniff Transportation Systems in Ohio seeks a Diesel Truck Mechanic to diagnose and repair tractors and trailers, perform 90-day inspections and ensure FHWA compliance.

You will inspect cargo tanks, replace worn parts, perform welding as needed, maintain records in the maintenance software, and coordinate parts with the shop team. Safety policies (OSHA) are required, and you’ll report to the Shop Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel tractors and trailers.
• Ability to perform 90-day inspections per FHWA standards.
• Proficient in welding repairs and component replacement.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
• Perform annual/systematic 90-day inspections to FHWA standards.
• Inspect cargo tanks including EPA Method 27 tests and checks.
• Replace worn or damaged parts and repair major assemblies.
• Record maintenance in maintenance management software.
• Operate yard hostler to move trailers as needed.
• Communicate parts orders and required supplies to the shop.
• Adhere to OSHA and environmental policies and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Report to the Shop Supervisor.
