Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a qualified Diesel Technician in Champaign, IL, to service and repair trucks and related equipment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least five years of Class 7 and 8 technician experience at a dealership or similar facility.

Qualifications

5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
High school diploma or GED.
Current and valid driver license per company insurer requirements.
Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and/or ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
Install injectors, pistons, liners, cams, heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, and other parts.
Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to plan work procedures.
Ensure safety devices and guards are in good condition.
Lubricate moving parts and test drive to verify conformance to specs.
Attend training classes and stay updated with factory bulletins.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.
