Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a skilled technician to join our team in Granite City, IL. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks, engines, and components, including overhauls of gas or diesel engines. A strong commitment to safety and accuracy is essential.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years in Class 7–8 truck service, and a valid driver license. ASE certifications are preferred to demonstrate certified expertise and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and valid driver license.
• High school diploma or GED required; ASE certifications preferred.
• Experience with Class 7 & 8 trucks; hands-on repair and safety compliance expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, and other engine components.
• Read job orders and determine malfunction to plan work procedures.
