Job summary

North Central International is seeking a Service Technician to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles and components per manufacturer standards. You will read repair orders, prepare work areas, secure parts, and ensure each vehicle is restored to safe, fully functional condition.

The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe work environment while delivering high-quality service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational or technical automotive/diesel program preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience with medium- or heavy-duty trucks or dealership service operations is a plus.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL or ability to obtain one preferred.
• ASE certification(s) preferred.
• OEM or dealer-specific certifications (e.g., International) are a plus.
• Basic understanding of vehicle systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and diagnostic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret repair orders, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and electronic service systems.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow procedures.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret repair orders to identify tasks.
• Prepare work area, gather tools, and secure parts for repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Document all findings and repairs in repair orders.
• Communicate repair results to appropriate personnel.
• Ensure vehicle is safe and fully functional before release.
• Mentor fellow technicians and promote safe work practices.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and tool readiness.
• Complete required training within 6 months of hire.
