Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, service, and repair heavy-duty trucks. You will perform maintenance across gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical, hydraulics, body components, and light welding.

This hourly role includes overtime and a comprehensive benefits package. ASE support and a Master Technician Achievement Bonus may be available based on your role.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of diesel engine experience required.
  • Experience diagnosing hydraulic, suspension and electrical systems preferred.
  • Ability to interpret factory service manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and maintenance to maximize safe operations.
  • Communicates issues with managers/drivers and discusses preventive techniques.
  • Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
  • Follows all safety policies and maintains a clean, safe work area.
  • Utilizes vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes for repairs.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Performs repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  • Maintains high standards of ethics and dependability.

Job description

Seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, service, and repair heavy-duty trucks. You will perform maintenance across gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems, spanning engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical, hydraulics, body components, and light welding/fabrication. Role is paid hourly with overtime each week

Core Responsibilities & Capabilities
  • Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and fix engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems on heavy and light-duty fleets.
  • Fuel System Expertise: Handle routine and complex maintenance for gasoline, diesel, and CNG powerplants.
  • Fabrication: Perform basic welding and body component repairs as needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and/or repair orders.
  2. Communicates with managers/drivers as to issues with vehicles and discusses preventive techniques that minimize future repairs.
  3. Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
  4. Follows all safety policies and procedures
  5. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  6. Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  7. Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  8. Conducts repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
  9. Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  10. Maintain high standard of Ethics and Dependability.
The essential functions of this role include:
  • working in a smoke free environment
  • wearing steel toe shoes
  • working in a non-temperature controlled environment
  • manual lifting up to 50lbs
  • standing for 10 hours at one time
  • working up to 10 hrs of overtime per week
Skills
