Job summary

AJ Transport Services is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and equipment. This is a full-time, on-site role with first and second shifts available. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of diesel experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work in varying weather. CDL is preferred but not required; ASE certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel trucks and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance services (oil changes, filter replacements, etc.).
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards.
• Respond to emergency repair needs as required.

• First Shift:7:00 AM - 5:00 or 6:00 PM, can vary
• Second Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 AM, can vary
