Job summary

Waste Pro of Louisiana is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Technician for Baton Rouge, LA. You will diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic and body systems on heavy- and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel and CNG systems. Welding and fabrication may be required.

CDL Class B is preferred within 12 months. You will use diagnostic tools and Factory Service Manuals, communicate with drivers, complete paperwork, and maintain a safe, clean work

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical, hydraulic and body systems on heavy- and light-duty trucks.
• Experience with gasoline, diesel and CNG systems; welding and fabrication may be included.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and reading Service Manuals.
• Ability to estimate time and materials for repairs within SRTs.
• CDL Class B preferred within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and repairs equipment to maximize safe, productive operations.
• Communicates with managers/drivers about vehicle issues and preventive techniques.
• Completes required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follows safety policies and maintains a safe work area (OSHA standards).
• Maintains a clean, safe work area consistent with corporate standards.
• Uses vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and plan repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Performs repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
• Maintains high ethics and dependability.
