Job summary

Republic Services in Edwardsville, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, HVAC, suspension, drive train and steering. You will operate with supervision and support our drivers as they run routes on state-of-the-art fleets.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of technician experience, ASE certifications a plus, CDL a plus, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and apply technical expertise across heavy- and medium-duty vehicles.
• Understand work order labor time standards and apply basic fault finding.
• Experience with Class 1-8 vehicles or similar heavy equipment is preferred.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of chassis components and refuse bodies with hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Performs light engine repair, suspension, driveline, and HVAC work.
• Provides safe road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identifies malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
• Completes company training programs and duties as assigned.
