Responsibilities

Tractor Technicians perform maintenance services within Dayton Freight Lines' standards, including:

• Troubleshooting diesel engine systems with ECM diagnostic programs and other techniques
• Diagnosing, repairing, and replacing external engine components
• Testing and repairing truck chassis electrical systems
• Developing skills in major power and drivetrain repairs
• Performing PM inspections and services efficiently and per policy
• Repairing, adjusting, and aligning suspension and brake systems
• Maintaining tire programs as per policy
• Performing service calls as needed
• Washing and fueling equipment when necessary
• Conducting road tests to ensure quality repairs
• Maintaining a clean, safe environment and recording work in EMS system
• Working with parts to ensure proper inventory levels
• Adhering to all safety and operational procedures
• Continuously improving processes and skills

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License
• Basic math skills
• Fluency in English
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• At least 18 years old
• Ability to pass a drug screen
