Responsibilities
Tractor Technicians perform maintenance services within Dayton Freight Lines' standards, including:
- Troubleshooting diesel engine systems with ECM diagnostic programs and other techniques
- Diagnosing, repairing, and replacing external engine components
- Testing and repairing truck chassis electrical systems
- Developing skills in major power and drivetrain repairs
- Performing PM inspections and services efficiently and per policy
- Repairing, adjusting, and aligning suspension and brake systems
- Maintaining tire programs as per policy
- Performing service calls as needed
- Washing and fueling equipment when necessary
- Conducting road tests to ensure quality repairs
- Maintaining a clean, safe environment and recording work in EMS system
- Working with parts to ensure proper inventory levels
- Adhering to all safety and operational procedures
- Continuously improving processes and skills
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Basic math skills
- Fluency in English
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to pass a drug screen
