Job summary

Tidewater Community College seeks a Diesel Technology Adjunct to teach courses in its diesel program. The instructor will deliver instruction in a classroom or via Zoom and online formats, and provide timely feedback to students to support learning outcomes.

Qualified candidates will have a teaching background, related diesel experience, and ASE certification in Diesel technology; knowledge of Canvas or LMS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Communication skills to teach diverse student populations.
• Teaching experience at the college level preferred.
• ASE certification or strong diesel industry background preferred.
• Recent diesel training within five years required.

Responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that facilitates knowledge and skills in the discipline.
• Align course activities with learning outcomes and engage students with active learning.
• Deliver instruction and provide timely feedback on student progress.
• Complete assessments and analyze evaluations to improve instruction.
• Maintain office hours and engage with students outside class.
