Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Hagerstown, MD is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. We will pay you while training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician. Schedule: Mon–Fri, mid shift 10:00 am – 6:30 pm, with weekends off.

Hourly pay is $21.00 per hour, with generous benefits after 30 days and tuition reimbursement options. No experience needed; on-the-job training provided. Earn PTO from day 1, 80 hours in the first year, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or delivered to rental shop.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units as required by company policies and procedures.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and policies; perform some facility maintenance.
