Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Aberdeen, MD is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will be paid while you train to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with a second shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm and a Monday–Friday schedule with weekends off.

Starting pay is $23.64 per hour, with on‑the‑job paid training and access to benefits, tool reimbursement, and opportunities for career growth within a state‑of‑the‑art maintenance environment for heavy duty vehicles.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop or rental shop and fuel vehicles properly.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to shop.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and perform minor maintenance as assigned.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments.

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
