Job summary

Ryder in Dunbar, West Virginia, is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will train on-site and earn $24.50 per hour with weekly pay, receiving raises through the trainee stages.

The program offers paid training, full benefits after 30 days, PTO from day 1 (up to 80 hours first year), and a path to full certification in diesel mechanics. Shift: Mon–Fri, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, West Virginia location.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0–1 year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18+ years old and fluent in English.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and strong technical aptitude.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently or in a team.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or rental shop.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with facility maintenance.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program modules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
