Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee in Normal, IL, offering a stable career path with weekly pay and strong benefits. The role focuses on learning diesel maintenance with on-the-job training and shifts Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

You will gain hands-on experience using state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools to service heavy-duty vehicles, with opportunities for certification bonuses and quarterly incentives as you progress within Ryder's maintenance team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles within yard, wash bay, or service shop and document fuel activity.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to shop.
• Maintain fuel island area and support facility maintenance as assigned.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments.
