Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This role offers weekly pay, a competitive hourly wage of $27.50, and access to state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools for heavy-duty vehicles.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, third shift from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, on-site with comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision after 30 days, PTO from day 1, 401(k) match, and tuition repayment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Two years or more of classroom training and work experience in mechanical repair.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer where applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Provides support to operations as needed.
