Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Peoria, IL, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and growth opportunities. The role emphasizes diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and customer-facing service on heavy-duty vehicles.

This position features a 3:00 pm–11:30 pm shift, Monday–Friday with weekends off, plus a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO and a 401(k) plan. Ryder values career development and safety in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance.
• Two years or more of training/experience, preferred.
• CDL CLASS A, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
