Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to perform maintenance and repair on heavy-duty vehicles. The role features a second shift (11:30 am – 8:00 pm), Monday–Friday with weekends off, and weekly pay with a full benefits package after 30 days.

You will work with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, participate in training, and have opportunities for advancement. CDL A is preferred, along with prior heavy-duty repair experience and strong diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification post secondary degree or technical certifications, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
• Routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work.
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required.
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
• All other certification as required by location, required.
• CDL CLASS A, preferred.
• Must have minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Completes complex inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Works unsupervised on most tasks.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
