Ready to move your career forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

As a Technician II at Penske, you are a respected technician. You are trusted to work independently on major and minor repairs, perform road tests to diagnose problems, and complete maintenance tasks. You set an example and mentor new technicians while continuing to grow your skills through learning from experienced techs and your manager.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
  • Perform preventive maintenance services on trucks and trailers efficiently
  • Repair and troubleshoot components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Use Penske’s tools and technologies for diagnostics and repairs
  • Engage in technician training programs
  • Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred
  • Experience with diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components; ASE certifications and OEM training are a plus
  • Proficient with diagnostic, hand, and power tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Teamwork ability
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to follow safety policies and regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards
  • Regular, predictable attendance
  • Willingness to travel within the district and pass required screenings
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting
  • Routine use of hands for operating tools and controls
  • Ability to work safely at heights
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
