Job description

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Lexington, KY.

  • Technician positions pay weekly

Hourly Pay: $28.39 per hour

CDL required within 6 months.

Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700.

Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter (four times per year).

Sign-On Bonus: Ryder pays $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, Sunday & Monday off.

Hours: Second shift Tuesday - Friday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.

Basic tools required.

Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake, and tire work.

Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience preferred.

Valid CDL Class A preferred.

This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:

Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.

Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and Ryder road test.

Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from the last 3 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical/electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
  • Identify root causes of failures and perform repairs.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
  • Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation.
  • Follow all safety, DOT, and corporate compliance guidelines.
  • Support operations as needed, including service island duties.
