Foley Equipment partners with WSU Tech in Wichita, KS to offer the Caterpillar ThinkBIG Electric Power Generation internship. The two-year program blends school with paid on-the-job experience, culminating in an Associate of Applied Science degree and 2,000+ hours of work exposure at Foley locations.

Participants cycle 7–8 weeks between ThinkBIG School and Foley locations, with housing arranged near campus and at local Foley sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn Caterpillar equipment and safety procedures.
• Punctual, dependable and able to work in a team.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn in ThinkBIG curriculum.
• Academic readiness for the ThinkBIG program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with disassembly, assembly and testing of generator components.
• Learn to use resistive load bank equipment for generator testing and repairs.
• Carry out repairs and preventive maintenance on power generation assemblies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and provide minor repairs on gensets.
• Attend school and complete assignments, maintaining good standing.
