Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience repairing automotive gas/diesel engines.
• Routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake and tire work.
• 2+ years of related training/experience preferred.
• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, a DOT physical, a road test and a background/motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the issue.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Follows safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines.
• Provides additional support to operations as needed.
