Job summary

Ryder in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to keep our heavy-duty fleet running reliably. You’ll diagnose and repair diesel engines, driveline, and electrical systems, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Tue–Sat schedule, paid training, and a comprehensive benefits package including PTO from day one, 401(k) match, and bonuses. CDL-A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Experience repairing automotive gas/diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance.
• Two+ years of related training/experience preferred.
• CDL CLASS A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Must pass drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.
• Valid CDL is preferred but not required immediately.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostics when applicable.
• Identifies root causes and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and company guidelines.
• Supports operations with additional duties as needed.
