Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Romulus, MI is seeking a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You will diagnose issues using Penske tools and complete maintenance tasks to keep vehicles on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must understand and comply with Penske safety policies; pass DOT/OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance like tire rotation and lubrication; handle electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas/diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske's technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Take on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
