Job summary

Penske is seeking a Technician in Alabaster, AL to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. Work schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm at 185 Airpark Industrial Rd, Alabaster, AL 35007.

You will learn Penske maintenance processes with master technicians and receive industry-certified training to grow your career. This role emphasizes safety, reliability and the use of advanced vehicle maintenance technology.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
Valid driver’s license.
The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
Basic computer skills.
Must follow Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA requirements; PPE usage.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
DOT regulations and DOT physical requirements for drivers; potential travel for training.

Responsibilities

Maintaining vehicles to keep customers safe and on the road.
Using Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
Performing preventative maintenance such as tire rotation, lubrication, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching.
Handling other projects as assigned by the supervisor.
