Qualifications

  • 4+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Own tools required.

Job description

Join to apply for the Diesel Technician III role at Bristol Management Services.

A&A Concrete Supply is looking to hire FULL TIME Diesel Technicians level 3. As a valued member of our team, the Maintenance Truck Tech III is required to perform all duties of the level 1 and level 2 technician. In addition, should show proficiency in one of the two major skill level categories and about 60% proficiency in another category. Category 1 includes internal repairs on engines, transmissions, and gearboxes. Category 2 includes electronic control modules and sensors, complex electrical and after-treatment repairs.

Pay Range

  • Tech III: $30-$40

Travel Required: Estimated less than 25%

Responsibilities

  • Use appropriate tools to diagnose and perform major repairs on vehicles, inspections, and routine preventive services.
  • Ability to use compressed gas torch and make adjustments.
  • Perform inspections and mechanical repairs to equipment and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain effective communication and computer skills for proper documentation.
  • Identify parts accurately, both visible and non-visible.
  • Maintain high safety, cleanliness, and efficiency standards.
  • Ensure vehicles meet CHP/BIT/PM inspection requirements.
  • Keep accurate records for inspections, DVIRs, work descriptions, and work orders.
  • Replace, install, and service brake systems, cab and sheet metal components, engine accessories, HVAC, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Service mixer truck equipment, transfer systems, starting and steering systems, transmissions, wheels, hubs, and bearings.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic control systems, electronic components, and vehicle systems such as engines, transmissions, after-treatment, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, and suspension systems.
  • Inspect vehicles such as tractors, trailers, or mixers.
  • Identify proper tire replacements and understand legal limits.
  • Follow manufacturer procedures for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Perform all maintenance duties and repair equipment on property, including diesel, plant, or yard equipment.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to comply with DOT and company standards.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • 4+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Own tools required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • 3+ years of welding experience.
