I. General Job Description

This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of all types of commercial trucks and equipment, working out of a fully equipped mobile service truck. It involves diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment at the company's facilities, with a focus on quality, product knowledge, and customer service.

Responsibilities

1. Complete repairs within estimated times per industry standards.
2. Grow and maintain the customer base.
3. Perform DOT inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, charging, starting systems, engine, HVAC, powertrain, and chassis components.
4. Diagnose and remove components such as injectors, cylinder heads, camshafts, bearings, and transmission/clutch parts.
5. Use diagnostic equipment, software, and technical publications to determine root causes and solutions.
6. Maintain the service truck, tools, and parts inventory.
7. Document work thoroughly, including complaints, causes, and corrections.
8. Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
9. Respond promptly to customer requests and foster relationships.
10. Report deferred repairs to customers and management.
11. Be available after hours and on alternate days as needed.

II. Minimum Job Qualifications

1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. At least 4 years of dealer experience as a Diesel/Service Technician.
3. Valid Commercial Driver’s License and a qualified MVR abstract.
4. Minimum tool requirements (see below).

III. Desired Job Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED with 5 years of dealership or equivalent experience.
2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
3. Excellent customer service skills.
