Job summary

Penske is seeking an experienced Technician II in San Leandro, CA to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You will work independently on major and minor repairs, perform road tests, mentor others, and grow your skills through Penske's training programs.

You will log maintenance steps using Penske tools, support safety/compliance programs, and have opportunities for advancement within a stable, well-regarded company.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) and ASE Certification preferred.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and a variety of tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure safety of vehicles for customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
• Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, and related components.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Use Penske tools/tech to log, research, and complete repairs.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Work on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
