Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing/Transportation Solutions is seeking a capable Technician II to join our North Bergen team. You’ll perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, sometimes with minimal supervision, while maintaining safety and reliability.

You’ll mentor others and grow your skills through our training programs. We value strong diagnostics, hands-on tool use, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting, OEM training, ASE certification, and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to solve problems with strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and adhere to safety policies (DOT/OSHA).
• Willing to travel within the district as needed and pass required screenings.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Doing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner.
• Repairing and troubleshooting components such as engines, transmissions and differentials, turbochargers, and fuel system components.
• Keeping your work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
