Job summary
Southwest International Trucks in Waco, TX is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Technician B to join our team. This full-time role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for advancement. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The position requires strong diesel diagnostic skills, OEM training, and ownership of tools. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, inspection and diagnosis, engine repair, wiring diagrams interpretation, and mentoring
Qualifications
- Substantial heavy-duty diesel experience is required.
- Strong diagnostic, electrical, and service information skills are essential.
- OEM training progression must be completed and current.
Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, wheel alignments, brake checks.
- Inspection & Diagnosis: diagnostic tests with scan tools, compression tests, fault codes interpretation.
- Perform engine repairs below major overhaul level and replace transmissions or driveline components as needed.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, fault trees, service bulletins, and OEM repair procedures.
- Provide guidance to Apprentice and C Technicians.
