Job summary

Southwest International Trucks in Dallas, TX is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Technician B to join the Dallas Team. This full-time role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and incentives for performance.

The position requires heavy-duty diesel experience, strong diagnostic skills, OEM training, and the ability to work independently while maintaining tool ownership. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with compensation $40–$50 per hour or flat rate based on experience.

Qualifications

• Substantial heavy-duty diesel experience or equivalent competency.
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, and service information skills.
• OEM training progression completed and current.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned repair time.
• Ownership of tools and toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, filters, wheel alignments, and brake checks.
• Diagnose diesel engines using scan tools and tests; interpret fault codes and sensor data.
• Repair engines below major overhaul level.
• Remove and install transmissions and major drivetrain components.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and OEM repair procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to Apprentices and C Technicians.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and use tools properly.
• Complete tasks within established timeframes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
